Youth Ministries

We have a great youth group here at Russell Memorial too!  We usually have about 30 youth in our regular group meetings, both Jr. High and High School ages.  We meet every Sunday evening from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Sowers building located on the church grounds.

Sundays  The first thing we do on Sunday evenings is to have a time of worship together with our Youth Praise Band.  Next we have announcements and a short devotional (10 minutes).  Then we have a meal together, which is provided by the church.  After that, we do something really fun (volleyball, flag football, kickball, ping-pong, indoor games, board games, etc.).

Monthly  We also try to do something unique and special “off site” once a month (putt-putt, skating, bowling, camping, swim parties, etc.).  During the summer months, our youth group is very busy with summer camp, UM Army, Big House, and various other mission programs designed to give our youth the opportunity to learn and to do mission work.

Yearly  During the course of the year, we do many other things such as put on festivals for the children of the church, do Christmas caroling, have dramas, go on trips, and on and on!  If you have youth in your family (7th grade-12th grade), they will learn and be nurtured in a loving and safe environment at Russell Memorial.  Come and check us out!

Praise Band  We also have an awesome youth-led praise band.  The praise band currently meets every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and every Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. for practice.  The praise band performs regularly in youth-led church services and for other special events too.  If you are a youth and you have some musical talent and you want to be part of a praise band—check us out!
