Our Philosophy Methodist Day School is dedicated to providing a quality education for your child in a Christian atmosphere. Our main objective is to instill in your child a love for learning. We are committed to excellence and are always eager to incorporate your comments, suggestions, and ideas into our programs.
Infants Methodist Day School cares for babies as young as six weeks old, with genuine love, affection, and constant attention to developmental needs. Infants are cared for in a warm, loving, infant-only environment where they can build trust in themselves and those who care for them. We provide hundreds of activities including reading and singing to your child. We encourage socio-emotional, communication, and physical development. Parents receive daily records that list the time and nature of all their infant’s activities.
Young Toddlers As infants grow into toddlers, they are busy learning new things about themselves and the world around them.In addition to introducing your toddler to plenty of songs, books and art projects, our teachers follow your child’s lead, responding to their interests in stories, songs, and play to help them grow and learn with confidence. We provide weekly lesson plans, promote physical, creative, and social/emotional development, and provide parents with a review of their child’s day, including diapering, nap time and feeding.
Toddlers/Twos For our toddlers and two-year-olds, we provide consistent daily schedules with an emphasis on social and self-help skills such as toilet training—which we encourage. Our teachers utilize guided activities each day which promote the social, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of children. We also offer free choice among various play centers. Parents are provided a daily routine report to let them know how their child is doing.
Threes/Fours The years before your child enters kindergarten are a critical time in his/her life for developing early literacy skills. We offer exciting, teacher-directed Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten activities and learning curriculum for our three- and four-year-old children, including structured play at various centers.
After-School Care Methodist Day School offers before-school and after-school programs for children ages five through twelve years old. The after-school programs include teacher-directed activities for our school-aged children. We provide assistance on homework as needed and time for the children to complete their assignments. An after-school snack is also provided. Summer camp is also available, offering a wide variety of activities and field trips.
